How do I check document language and regional formats as an artist?

Keep app language, document settings and your own wording separate, and check the complete document.

Written by Tobias

Your app language, a document's language and its regional-format preference are separate. Check the settings of the actual document and the output you intend to share.

This guide is for artists working with a document they are permitted to edit. If the agency manages the document, ask the responsible agent to review its settings and output.

Keep the settings separate

Setting or content

What to review

Your app language

The interface you use in your account.

Document language

The selected language for the document's standard labels.

Date and number format

The selected regional preference for the document. Inspect the actual dates, times and figures in its output.

Your own wording

Text written in a template or document. Review it separately from standard labels.

Check an editable artist contract

  1. Open the artist contract you are permitted to edit and confirm the booking.

  2. In the editor's three-dot menu, open Change layout.

  3. Review the document language and Date and number format separately.

  4. Apply and save any intended changes, then reopen the document to check the saved settings.

  5. Open the preview and the complete downloaded PDF. Compare its labels, dates, times, amounts and currency with the intended agreement.

Check figures individually. A regional preference is not an exchange-rate instruction, and a date appearing correctly does not establish that every number or document field is formatted as intended. Do not change the agreed amount to compensate for a display issue.

For an invoice or a document managed by your agency, ask the person responsible to confirm its layout settings and check the complete output. Do not assume that access to an artist contract gives you access to every invoice or agency document.

What about templates?

Document templates have their own layout settings. If you reuse a template, check its selected language and regional preference, then review a filled document created from it. An empty template has no booking context for every field. Keep a useful original template before changing its design, and do not assume a template change updates an existing document.

Why is some text still in another language?

Identify whether the text is a standard label, a saved booking value or wording entered by your team. Review your own text in the language intended for the reader. If a standard label or formatted value is wrong, report the document link, selected settings, expected result and a cropped screenshot to support.

Check the whole final file before sharing or sending. Keep private documents and financial examples in the agreed support channel. If you cannot access or edit the document, ask the person responsible for it; changing your account language does not grant document access.
